Nyumbani — Swahili for "at home."
The idea
Built on the word "Nyumbani."
NyumbaNi BnBs takes its name from the Swahili word for "home" — nyumbani. Every stay in the portfolio is chosen and prepared with that word in mind: somewhere you could actually live for a few nights, not just sleep.
The portfolio is based in Nanyuki, a highland town almost exactly on the Equator, at the foot of Mt Kenya — a natural stopover for travellers heading to Ol Pejeta Conservancy, the Aberdares, or Mt Kenya itself, and a destination in its own right for anyone who wants cool highland air and long views.
How it's run
What "directly hosted" actually means
One point of contact
Every enquiry, booking and check-in question goes to the same person — not a rotating support queue.
Cleaned between every guest
Each stay is checked, cleaned and restocked before the next arrival — no exceptions.
Local knowledge, on request
Ask about routes, weather, or what's worth doing that day — you're talking to someone who lives here.
